Attached please find the Week 1 standings for the Spring 2009 season.

 

This week's announcements:

 

ALL TEAMS - How NOT to Lose Points:

1. You MUST write your area on the match report. Include either "Bos", "N.S.", "S.S.", or "Cent." along with A1, B3 etc. North Shore teams, please note: Stars, Stripes, Banner etc. no longer exist.

Too many points are lost due to no area or wrong division on reports. This is an easy fix, please use the correct division name please!

 

2. Mail your report immediately following the match or by Wednesday AM at the latest. Thursday is too late (except for teams with Wed. home games) and you will risk losing points.

 

3. Please be aware of the new P.O. Box. Do not mail to the old P.O. Box.  The envelopes you received in your captain's kits have the correct and current address.  Please discard any old envelopes from previous seasons.

 

4. If you are submitting a report for a makeup match, you must write "Makeup Match" at the top of the report to avoid losing points for a late submission.

Corrrection...

Inside your team captain's kit was an information sheet that included the order of play and chalker rotation.  The cricket section contained an error: where it says "has choice for cork" should have instead been "shoots first". Please make a note of this - a corrected version of this sheet is attached.

 

Winter Weather Advisory

This winter has seen above average snowfall and some teams have asked if there is an MMDL weather cancellation policy.  In general, the league will rarely, if ever, cancel league matches as the need for makeups should be avoided when possible due to scheduling and time constraints. However, all MMDL teams are advised to stay up to date on their local weather and travel conditions and to use common sense to decide whether or not a makeup match is necessary. Please be proactive in communicating with your opposing captain about late starts or the need to postpone.  IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are playing a makeup match, you must write "Makeup Match" on the match report form to avoid point deductions for late submission.
