ATTN CAPTAINS: As we approach season's end, it is ESSENTIAL for match reports to be mailed on time as this affects playoff matchups. Please remember to mail your reports immediately following your match or by the next morning at the latest.
> PLAYOFF SCHEDULES
Schedules for the Spring 2009 playoffs are attached and will be posted shortly on the league website. Contact your area director if you have any questions or concerns regarding the postseason. Please remember to remind your sponsor about the possbility for Thursday night playoff matches and check their schedule for conflicts with parties or other events.
> MMDL ELECTIONS !
This summer, elections will take place for the following league offices: North Shore Area Director, South Shore Area Director, Secretary, and President. As announced previously, there are currently two candidates for the SSAD position: Chris Ryan and Scott Gargiulo. No candidates have declared for the other positions to run against the incumbents. If you wish to inquire or state your intention to run for any of these offices, please send an email to league Secretary, Ann Hollis at annmarie@mmdl.org . NOTE: The Board of Directors will be changing the date of Area Director elections from the second Captain's Meeting to the FIRST Captain's meeting (officer elections will be held at the August BoD meeting). NS and SS Captains should be prepared to fill out and submit ballots when they drop off rosters and checks for the Fall 2009 season. Additional information about MMDL elections can be found in the league bylaws located here.
> MMDL 501 SINGLES
The second of 4 qualifiers will be held on Sunday, May 3 at the Framingham Eagles. Don't forget, there is an all you can eat buffet from 10am-2pm. For all the details about the singles championship and area qualifiers, please visit the league website or click here. The league Finals event is currently scheduled for June 13, location TBD.
NOTE: As announced earlier this week, please note that start times for two of the men's events have been changed. Silver (B+C Division) will now start at 2:30pm and Gold (A Division) will now start at 5:00pm. Remember that players who do not qualify in the Bronze or Silver competitions are allowed to register to play again in the upper levels.
> PLAYER DRAFT
Did you know the MMDL website has a section for player's seeking teams? If you're looking for a team to play on, or need to pick up an extra player to round out your roster, check it out here.
> SUPER A COMMITTEE
The league is trying to nail down plans to re-incorporate the Super A division for next Fall. Anyone with an interest in providing input into how this is implemented is advised to get involved. The committee is specifically in need of additional representation from the Central area players. For more information, contact league commissioner, Adam Sherlock at adams@mmdl.org
