TEAM "CARPOOL" bonus! 5th man flies free
For every 4 players from the same MMDL team that enter together for a singles event, a 5th teammate may enter for FREE.

"LAST SHOOTER STANDING" BONUS!
Highest placing player of each division will receive a bonus $25 in all singles cricket events. In case of a tie, a single leg playoff will determine bonus winner.

RIP John "Oogie" May - MMDL expresses its condolences to the friends and family of John "Oogie" May, captain of the Mayhem team that played out of the Peabody Elks Lodge. Oogie died recently at the age of 64 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. To read Oogie's full obituary - click here

[MMDL] Line up your team for the Spring 2014 Season!

Join us in the MMDL in 2014 - our 40th Anniversary Year!

The MMDL invites all teams and sponsors to sign up for the Spring 2014 Season. Team rosters and sponsor's checks must be turned in at your area's first captain's meeting held at the turn of the year! (see meeting dates and times below), so start planning your roster now!

NEW! The league will be adding $100 to the payouts of the Luck of the Draw tournaments held after the second captains meeting in the NS, Central and Boston areas.

  • "How to join the MMDL" - An FAQ/Guide for new sponsors, teams and players. Includes step by step instructions on how to become a sponsor, how to submit a team, how to find a new team or new players for your current team.  Even experienced MMDL members may learn something.  To see the guide, click here.

The following forms are attached to this email or can be downloaded from the MMDL website.  These items will also arrive via postal mail to all captains and sponsors in the weeks ahead.
  • Spring Season Announcement - Details, dates, times and locations of the captain's meetings for each area and other important information for captains.
  • Team Roster Application e-Form - You can print this out and fill in by hand or it can be typed in on your computer with Adobe Acrobat. We encourage you to please do this and bring a printout to your captain's meeting if possible to avoid unreadable handwriting.  To fill this out on your computer, click on the fields with your mouse to type in your information, and you can switch to the next field by pressing the "tab" key. Any check boxes can be clicked on with your mouse.
  • Sponsor Poster - A poster you can print out and hang up near your dartboard to recruit new teams or players.

[MMDL] Playoffs are coming! Schedules now posted

Will your team be left standing when MMDL's "Second Season" begins?  Can anyone go from worst to first like a certain fuzzy baseball team? Any guys (or gals) gonna use the playoffs as an excuse to quit shaving?

Good luck to all teams in their quest for the prestigious State Championship of the World's Largest Steel Tip League!  It's time to find out which teams are legit contenders!

Please download your area playoff schedule and read the important reminders below. Most importantly, please check with your home sponsor about any holiday season parties that may conflict with playoff matches, particularly any Thursdays that you are scheduled to play so that you can make alternative arrangements.  Proactive communication goes a long way.

* PLAYOFF SCHEDULES * - Click below to download your area's playoff schedule.  Please note that schedules are subject to change and are updated frequently during the post season.  Always check the date code printed on the schedule to ensure you have the most recent version.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PLAYOFF TEAMS:

  1. PLAYOFF ELIGIBILITY: Please remember that all players must have played in a minimum of 3 regular season matches in order to qualify for the playoffs.  Players who have been deemed ineligible by the league will have their names appear in italics on the MMDL Stats Website.  If you have any questions about this policy, please contact your Area Director or the League Commissioner.

  2. Please remember to remind your sponsor about the possibility for Thursday night playoff matches and check their schedule for conflicts with parties or other events. If your sponsor  hosts multiple teams, please check for conflicts to avoid overcrowding.

  3. Winning captains - DON'T FORGET - report playoff match results immediately following your win, call or email your area director as instructed on the playoff schedule sheet.

  4. Driving Directions to Opponent's Sponsor are available from the MMDL Stats Website. Note: May not contain every sponsor, if you don't find yours, try mapquest.com or Google Maps.

  5. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS regarding the playoffs, please contact your Area Director.  ADs are extremely busy during the playoffs and have many other captains to consider, so please be patient and make sure you have all of your information and questions at hand when contacting them. AD contact info is listed on your area playoff schedule or click here.

  6. Playoff Results will be reported after each round is completed on the MMDL website - the downloadable schedule will be updated with advancing teams.  Make sure you check the schedule date code to ensure you have the most up to date version.

  7. TIP: For a match report, since these are not mailed into the league, you may use an extra blank regular season match report (separate the three carbons so you have three copies to use), or just a blank piece of paper.  To download a blank match report that you can print out, click here.
