[MMDL] Week 3 Standings and Roster Change Policy

The following is meant to clarify MMDL's policies on adding or replacing players on your team roster.

It is ESSENTIAL for all MMDL Team Captains to understand and comply with the league roster change policies.  These policies were designed to ensure equitable and fair competition for all divisions.  MMDL understands that the unpredictability of life often results in players dropping out mid-season, or other reasons for additions or replacements, but we must also be protective of the integrity of league competition, prevent attempts to manipulate these rules and have created these policies to create a fair process for all.

DON'T LOSE POINTS - Every season, many captains lose valuable match points because they do not follow the proper procedure when making a roster change.  Every point counts in a team's quest for the playoffs, so if you must make a change to your team roster, it is in your best interest to adhere to the following:

Use of an unregistered/unapproved player will result in match penalty points.

  • All roster changes must be approved by your area director before the new player can play in a match.  Make sure that you have received an email or verbal permission from your AD before using a new player.

  • Teams are allowed to make up to three (3) roster changes before week 8 of the regular season. Absolutely no roster changes will be allowed after this deadline.  You must submit your roster change request to your Area Director AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR to your scheduled Week 8 match.

  • Your official roster can be checked at any time on the MMDL Stats Website.  If a player's name does not appear on this site as a member of your team, then they are not approved to play.

[MMDL] Week 1 Standings

Results for Week 1 of the Spring 2013 season are available on the MMDL Statistics Website.  Follow the link below to review the scores and notables for your area.  Missing scores may be due to postal delays because of Winter Storm Nemo and should be caught up by the following week. 

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Please mail your match reports immediately following the match. This will greatly help faster processing of weekly scores.

FILLING OUT MATCH REPORTS - Captains are urged to remember the following:

  • DO NOT use old return envelopes from previous seasons - USE ONLY the envelopes provided to you in this season's captain's kit.
  • Mail the TOP WHITE COPY in the envelope provided.  Pink and yellow copies are for both captain's records. You are advised to store these sheets until the season is over in case of disputes or to examine for point deductions.
  • Write legibly (!!!) - if the name of the player, team, points and other information can not be easily read, this increases the chance for errors and delays the publishing of the standings
  • Use First and Last names - so proper credit can be given to the correct player for wins, losses and notables.
  • Start and End Times should be recorded in the space provided
  • Assign one of your players to review the report for accuracy at the end of the match to prevent point deductions.
  • DO NOT tear, doodle on or otherwise deface the report - have respect for the person who must process hundreds of them in a short time window

Complying with the above is extremely important for our ability to process several hundred weekly match reports in a timely and accurate manner.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

[MMDL] UPDATE! ADO Qualifier POSTPONED to Sunday 2/10

Due to the pending major winter storm, MMDL has made the difficult decision to reschedule the Free ADO Qualifier from this Saturday to the following day, Sunday, February 10.  Start time and location remain the same.

PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD and help make sure all members planning to attend are made aware of the date change.

There's no better way to recover from a long day of shoveling than relaxing with a full day of competitive darts.  The round robin format of the qualifier guarantees you will throw many legs of darts whether you win or lose, so come on down and test your skills while you get in a lot of practice.  Complete event details appear below.

(Winners of this qualifier will earn entry to the ADO US Masters Regional competition tentatively scheduled for March 16 at the Barn in Amesbury, MA)

Format:
501 SI/DO, ADO Rules - Round Robin
Separate competitions for men and women.

Doors open at 11:00am and event to start at 12:00pm. Registration closes 15 minutes prior to start.

Up to 3 men and 3 women will win a free registration ($110 value) to represent the MMDL at the upcoming ADO Regional US Masters Tournament on the 3/16 (tentative) in Amesbury, MA.  Winners on 3/16 will advance to the national competitions. As always, there is no entry fee for this qualifier and all MMDL members* in good standing are invited to attend.

Participants will play 501 in a round-robin format.  This format could take up the entire day and you will throw a lot of games, so please make sure you can make the full-day commitment to participate.  For anyone who loves to play darts, this is a great opportunity with no cost to you.  We especially encourage all female players to come out and give it a go and improve their game for Tuesday nights while supporting the growth of women's darts in the USA.

[MMDL] Spring darts are in the air...

The Spring 2013 season of the Minute Man Dart League officially begins this week.  We hope you've been practicing!

Good luck to all teams.  Represent your sponsors well, respect your opponent and help spread the goodwill of this great game.  Please advise any new players to subscribe to this email list by visiting our website.

Match schedules can be downloaded from the MMDL website - CLICK HERE

Please note these schedules are subject to minor changes for the first couple weeks after original posting, so please check your division against the version currently posted online to make sure you have the most recent scheduling info. 

Please direct any questions about scheduling to your respective Area Director listed on your captain's kit envelope.

Here are some other helpful reminders for team captains to ensure you start the season off right:
  • League Rules - to avoid disputes during matches, make sure that all the players on your team are knowledgeable of the current rules.  The most up to date version of MMDL rules is posted on our website, which supersedes all printed versions.
  • Schedules - Make copies of the schedule provided in your captain's kit and distribute to each team member.
  • Stat Site - Weekly standings and player statistics are available on the MMDL stat site.  See the instructions on the main page of the stat site for setting up an account and accessing your stats.  Please note that the current season is not yet loaded into the site, but should be available prior to, or just after, the new season begins.
  • Captain's Kit Materials - Make sure you review and are familiar with all the contents of the captain's kit you should have picked up at your recent captain's meeting.  Additional copies of documents such as blank match reports, match report instructions, order of play and scorekeeping, match start time guidelines and scorekeeper's ten commandments can be downloaded from the league website - click here.

[MMDL] Help us speed up weekly score reporting...email your match reports

Want to see your scores get updated faster?

Submit your regular season weekly match reports via email! 
It's fast and easy as long as you can send a CLEAR image of your report.

PREFERRED METHOD - DOCUMENT SCANNER
Using a scanner is the best way to make sure you take a clear image of your report and do not encounter any glitches or further delays in processing.  If possible, please use this method to avoid any issues.

ALTERNATE METHOD - SMARTPHONE CAMERA - ACCEPTED BUT NOT ADVISED
Using a smartphone camera or document scanning app is accepted but not encouraged as image quality via this method is not as reliable.  If you wish to submit a picture, please make sure the image is very clear and easily readable.  You may wish to do a test picture before the season to ensure image quality will be acceptable, contact your area's statistician listed below to coordinate a test run.

ALWAYS keep a hardcopy of the match report on hand as a backup. Reports submitted later than the Friday following the match are subject to late penalty point deductions.
NOTE: Please also include the final score of your match in the body of your email.

Remember to check the image to make sure it is readable before you email it and then send it to the appropriate area statistician below:
