[MMDL] Week 4 Standings & Special Message from the BOD

ATTN: All MMDL players and team captains - There have been a few reports of incidents at recent dart matches involving players displaying poor sportsmanship, violent behavior and general disrespect of the game, our league sponsors and fellow teams and players. MMDL matches are intended to be a fun and safe evening of competition for all involved.

The MMDL Board of Directors wishes to remind all team captains and players that we have a zero tolerance policy for any types of violence or unlawful acts and will deal accordingly with any properly reported infractions. The official rules regarding player personal conduct are listed below for clarification. 

ARTICLE IX - PERSONAL CONDUCT

  1. Heckling or other harassment is strictly forbidden. It is the home team's responsibility to maintain the best of order during League play.
  2. The repeated use of foul or insulting language shall be considered just cause for the penalizing of the offender and his/her team by the Area Director and/or the MMDL Board of Directors.
  3. ANY ACTS OF PHYSICAL VIOLENCE OR PROPERTY DAMAGE SHOULD BE REPORTED TO LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND THE AREA DIRECTOR.
  4. Talking by members of the opposing team, within earshot of the shooter, about the current game or match, or any other subject, for the express purpose of distracting the shooter is not only impolite but poor sportsmanship and could result in a penalty to the offending team
  5. Any acts of violence will not be tolerated for any reason! If a player is found guilty of an unlawful act at a match they will be BANNED from future play in MMDL.

Witch City Open - Single King Size Bed Rooms still available. [MMDL] Submitting Match Reports via Email

MMDL is looking for team captains who wish to submit weekly match reports via email. This program was created to increase the speed and reliability of reporting match scores and we have made some recent improvements such as providing a later deadline for submission.

Here are the basic requirements and details for this program:
  • You must have an email address which you use and check on a regular basis.
  • You must have the ability to scan or otherwise convert hard copy match reports into a .pdf document that can be printed and read by the league statistician.
  • You must check the legibility of your scanned documents before transmitting and they must be similar in quality to the hard copy.
  • Remember to write "Scanned" at the top of your hard copy of the match report before scanning.
  • Remember to write the Area and Division names in the subject line of the email.
  • Match reports must be sent via email no later than 11:59pm on the Thursday following your match.
  • You will NOT need to mail in the white copy of your match report.

After that the "foliage peeping tom" rate goes in effect and will likely be double the fee and sell out quick, so call them this weekend and make sure you're not shut out: 603-880-9100. You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance with no penalty, so there's little risk in securing a room even if you're not 100% sure you can make the event. Book now!

[MMDL] WCO Group Rate Extended at Nashua Courtyard Marriott -- Book today!

[MMDL] Week 1 Standings

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Please mail your match reports immediately following the match. This will greatly help faster processing of weekly scores.

FILLING OUT MATCH REPORTS - Captains are urged to remember the following:

  • DO NOT use old return envelopes from previous seasons - USE ONLY the envelopes provided to you in this season's captain's kit. The league has changed Post Office Boxes recently and old envelopes will not be delivered which will result in penalty points for your team.
  • Mail the TOP WHITE COPY in the envelope provided.  Pink and yellow copies are for both captain's records. You are advised to store these sheets until the season is over in case of disputes or to examine for point deductions.
  • Write legibly (!!!) - if the name of the player, team, points and other information can not be easily read, this increases the chance for errors and delays the publishing of the standings
  • Use First and Last names - so proper credit can be given to the correct player for wins, losses and notables.
  • Start and End Times should be recorded in the space provided
  • Assign one of your players to review the report for accuracy at the end of the match to prevent point deductions.
  • DO NOT tear, doodle on or otherwise deface the report - have respect for the person who must process hundreds of them in a short time window

There's no question that cricket is the favorite game of American dart players and this fall there will be many chances to get your game on.  Please see the attached flyers for detailed info about the following THREE separate cricket-focused events for MMDL players.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
  • November 4 @ Beverly Elks - FREE ADO Cricket Qualfier - A day of long format round robin cricket.  There is no entry fee and MMDL will pay the $110/fee for up to three players from this event to attend the ADO Regional Cricket tournament on 11/17. This qualifier is open to all men and women MMDL members.
  • November 17 @ The Barn in Amesbury - ADO Cricket Regional - Another day of long format round robin cricket, same as the qualifier.  Winners from the qualifier will attend for free, anyone else may participate for $110/person. Open to all players, not just MMDL.
  • November 18 @ Beverly Elks - MMDL Cricket Singles Championship - The annual event to crown the MMDL cricket champion.  There will also be doubles 501 open to all players.

HELP SPREAD THE WORD! -- Print out the flyers and bring to your next match to share with your team and opponents.  Pin it to the dart area of your pub or club and challenge your whole team to see who can go the farthest.

[MMDL] Let's get the party started...

The Fall 2012 season of the Minute Man Dart League officially begins tomorrow night.  Popcorn is optional. 

Good luck to all and shoot well.  Represent your sponsors well and spread the goodwill of this game.

Match schedules can be downloaded from the MMDL website - CLICK HERE

Please note these schedules are subject to minor changes for the first couple weeks after original posting, so please check your division against the version currently posted online to make sure you have the most recent scheduling info. 

Please direct any questions about scheduling to your respective Area Director.

IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT use old return envelopes from prior to the Spring 2012 season - USE ONLY the envelopes provided to you in this season's captain's kit. The league has changed Post Office Boxes recently and old envelopes will not be delivered which will result in penalty points for your team.  Make sure your match reports are sent to the following addresses, depending on your area:

North Shore and Boston Areas:

Here are some other helpful reminders for team captains to ensure you start the season off right:
  • League Rules - to avoid disputes during matches, make sure that all the players on your team are knowledgeable of the current ruleset.
  • Schedules - Make copies of the schedule provided in your captain's kit and distribute to each team member.
  • Stat Site - Weekly standings and player statistics are available on the MMDL stat site.  See the instructions on the main page of the stat site for setting up an account and accessing your stats.  Please note that the current season is not yet loaded into the site, but should be available prior to, or just after, the new season begins.
  • Captain's Kit Materials - Make sure you review and are familiar with all the contents of the captain's kit you should have picked up at your recent captain's meeting.  Additional copies of documents such as blank match reports, match report instructions, order of play and scorekeeping, match start time guidelines and scorekeeper's ten commandments can be downloaded from the league website - click here.

MMDL Alien Boards by Dart World ON SALE SOON - The new MMDL-branded Alien dartboards we showed on our Facebook page have finally landed in MA.  Some of you may have seen them at your area captain's meeting. We have gotten a lot of requests about how to purchase these boards and will be sending out this information soon, so please follow us to ensure you receive this notice.  A limited supply of boards will be available.

RIP - Condolences to the family and friends of Billy Whitehouse, former MMDL State Champion.
