[MMDL] 2013 Election Announcement

This is a special reminder regarding this summer's MMDL elections.
Elections will be held for the following MMDL board positions at the August 19, 2013 Board of Directors Meeting:

• President
• Recording Secretary
• Director of Marketing & Communications
• Information Technology Director

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR AN OFFICER POSITION:
Please send an email to the MMDL Recording Secretary, Terry Gargiulo, at terryg@mmdl.org NO LATER THAN August 5, 2013 so that your name can be placed on the election ballot for the 8/19 BoD meeting.

Elections for Area Directors for North Shore and South Shore will be held at the first captain's meeting in Late July/Early August in those respective areas.  If you wish to run for either AD position, please send an email to Terry ASAP to be placed on the ballot at the capt's meeting.

[MMDL] Free ADO Qualifier - 8/4 at Beverly Elks

MMDL's FREE ADO event series continues. PLEASE help us spread the word among your team and other MMDL players you meet.  These qualifiers are a great way to play A LOT of quality, tournament style darts at no cost to you.

Sunday, August 4, 2013
Winners of this qualifier will earn entry ($110 value) to the America's Cup Team Regional competition scheduled for August 18 at the Barn in Amesbury, MA. Winners from the Regional will represent MMDL and Area 5-1 at the America's Cup Team Finals at the Witch City Open.

Format:

501 SI/DO, ADO Rules - Round Robin

DIRECTIONS

ELIGIBILITY:
In order to qualify for an MMDL event you must have played at least 3 matches in the prior season or 1 match in the current season.

Doors open at 10:30am and event to start at 11:30pm. Registration closes 15 minutes prior to start.

NOTE:  Players that go deep in the tournament will likely play late into the day - make sure you can commit to
the entire day of darts, leaving before completing your matches may suspend you from future qualifiers.

Please print this flyer out and distribute to anyone you think may wish to participate.

 

Up to 3 men and 3 women will win a free registration ($110 value) to represent the MMDL at the upcoming ADO Regional.  Winners from that will advance to the national competition. As always, there is no entry fee for this qualifier and all MMDL members* in good standing are invited to attend.

Participants will play 501 in a round-robin format.  This format could take up the entire day and you will throw a lot of games, so please make sure you can make the full-day commitment to participate.  For anyone who loves to play darts, this is a great opportunity with no cost to you.  We especially encourage all female players to come out and give it a go and improve their game for league nights while supporting the growth of women's darts in the USA.

[MMDL] Sign up your team for the Fall 2013 season!

The MMDL invites all teams and sponsors to sign up for the Fall 2013 Season. Team rosters and sponsor's checks must be turned in at your area's first captain's meetings in late July / early August! (see meeting dates and times below), so start planning now!

Don't forget about these resources on our website for sponsors and teams:

• "How to join the MMDL" - An FAQ/Guide for new sponsors, teams and players. Includes step by step instructions on how to become a sponsor, how to submit a team, how to find a new team or new players for your current team.  Even experienced MMDL members may learn something.  To see the guide, click here.
• Online Draft - This is an online matchmaking system for players seeking teams and vice versa. To visit the draft page, click here.
• Need a new Pub/Sponsor?  If you are looking for a new pub/sponsor, check out the listings in our forum thread - click here.  Let us know if you see any outdated information or have any new info to share.
  

Fall 2013 Forms and Documents:
The following forms are attached to this email or can be downloaded from the MMDL website.  These items will also arrive via postal mail to all captains and sponsors in the weeks ahead.

• Spring Season Announcement - Details, dates, times and locations of the captain's meetings for each area and other important information for captains.
• Team Roster Application e-Form - You can print this out and fill in by hand or it can be typed in on your computer with Adobe Acrobat. We encourage you to please do this and bring a printout to your captain's meeting if possible to avoid unreadable handwriting.  To fill this out on your computer, click on the fields with your mouse to type in your information, and you can switch to the next field by pressing the "tab" key. Any check boxes can be clicked on with your mouse.
  
• Sponsor Poster - A poster you can print out and hang up near your dartboard to recruit new teams or players.

AREA DIRECTOR ELECTIONS - will take place for the North Shore and South Shore areas at each area's respective first captain's meeting.  Captains from these areas are urged to be on time for the election meeting to cast ballots.  If you are interested in running for the area director position, please send an email announcing your intentions to MMDL Recording Secretary, Terry Gargiulo at terryg@mmdl.org and you will have your name printed on the election ballot.

[MMDL] State Champion Finalists square off this week! See each division's matchups...

MMDL state finalists have now all been determined (see list below).  Good luck to all teams in pursuit of the State Championship!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

* Team Photos: Please send any team pictures of champions to mmdl.bod@gmail.com and they will be posted on the MMDL website and Facebook photo stream.

* Game Boards - Please remember that MMDL tradition is for the winning team to sign and keep the finals match dartboard.  If this presents any problem for the home team or sponsor, please note that prior to playing the match to avoid any misunderstandings.  Remember to bring a sharpie marker for board signatures.  Winning teams should replace the sponsor's dartboard.

[MMDL] Playoff Results - SA Finals and Area Finals

Many teams have gone fishing, but the best of the rest are still running in the playoff marathon...

The State Title matchup is set for Super A and all other divisions are now heading into their respective area championships for the right to represent their area in the State Title rounds. Come out and root on your friends that are still competing.  See below for links to the updated playoff schedules.
