Playoff results are now updated with this past week's results, please click the link below to download your area's schedule to see results and updates -- check the date code on the schedule to make sure you have the most recent version.

[MMDL] "London Calling" for Three MMDL Players

Congratulations to MMDL player, Bette Cunningham, for winning the national ADO competition this past weekend in Texas for the right to represent the ADO, MMDL and the USA at the Winmau World Masters tournament in England this coming fall!

Bette will be joined by fellow MMDL veterans Tom Sawyer and Tom Curtin whose participation at last year's World Masters was deferred to this year. Bette plays for the Mad Dogs team out of Madigan's Again in Worcester and Tom and Tom play for Suicide 9 out of The Barn in Amesbury.

Tom Sawyer is currently ranked by the ADO as the #1 Men's player in the USA. Tom Curtin is ranked #12 and Bette Cunningham is ranked #14 among the Ladies. The MMDL currently leads all leagues in the country in ADO points earned.

The MMDL has always been and continues to be a major player on the national and international darts scene and our region has produced some of the greatest Americans to ever play the game (even some guys not named "Tom"). For more information on the MMDL's ADO programs and activities - click here.

[MMDL] Healthy dart players shun the sunshine...(League 501 Tournament Reminder)

Did you know that skin cancer rates are on the rise? Avoid the high risk of carcinoma, melanoma and any other undesirable noma and spend your dangerously sunny Saturday safely indoors at tomorrow's MMDL 501 Singles Championship!

Players who do not finish in a money round can re-enter into the next level competition and keep playing throughout the day.

[MMDL] Week 14 Standings & Playoff Schedule Update

As we end the regular season for the majority of the league and enter the "second season" of playoffs, the MMDL Board of Directors wishes to thank all of our members and sponsors for a great Spring season and hope everyone has a terrific summer!

Don't forget to keep your eye out for Fall Season roster applications in the mail to all captains in late June or early July.

We hope to see a great turnout this coming Saturday, May 19 at the MMDL 501 Singles Championship!

Updated playoff schedules are now available - Click Here. Super A, Boston, South Shore, North Shore and Central have recently been updated with playoff matchups and team names filled in for divisions that start playoffs this week.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PLAYOFF TEAMS:

PLAYOFF ELIGIBILITY: Please remember that all players must have played in a minimum of 3 regular season matches in order to qualify for the playoffs. Players who have been deemed ineligible by the league will have their names appear in italics on the MMDL Stats Website. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact your Area Director or the League Commissioner.
Please remember to remind your sponsor about the possibility for Thursday night playoff matches and check their schedule for conflicts with parties or other events.
Winning captains - DON'T FORGET - report playoff match results immediately following your win, call or email your area director as instructed on the playoff schedule sheet.
Driving Directions to Opponent's Sponsor are available from the MMDL Stats Website. Note: May not contain every sponsor, if you don't find yours, try mapquest.com or Google Maps.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS regarding the playoffs, please contact your Area Director. ADs are extremely busy during the playoffs and have many other captains to consider, so please be patient and make sure you have all of your information and questions at hand when contacting them. AD contact info is listed on your area playoff schedule or click here.

[MMDL] Thank you Mark Ingoldsby!

Mark Ingoldsby was among the founding leaders of the Minute Man Dart League, and for over 30 years served as league statistician, compiling and publishing the weekly standings and all star point achievements, never once missing a deadline. His long and dedicated service is unmatched by any other MMDL officer, and our league community expresses our gratitude for all of Mark's tremendous accomplishments in establishing, growing and maintaining the world's largest steel tip dart league.

Mark retired from the board prior to the fall 2009 season but continued on as league statistician through the end of the fall 2012 season. The following retrospective of Mark's MMDL career was provided by another former board member, John Bullock.

In the mid 1970's, while playing darts at the Sand Trap in Danvers, Mark Ingoldsby was approached by one of the league's early officers, Don Skane, who asked if he could print the weekly stats sheet through Mark's family printing business in Danvers. Mark said that he would be willing to take on the job and his involvement with the league began.

Mark's family printing company fronted all the money for postage, captains kits etc. for the start of many seasons until the MMDL was financially sound and could take over the costs. After stabilizing this enormous undertaking, Mark, Don Skane & crew knew the MMDL was going to "FLY" under "non-profit" control and the league started to become a full, legitimate business and major player in the world of darts.

Working with Don Skane, Bill Batty and Harvey Sankey, Mark started with less than a 100 teams and began doing the stats every week -- typing the team standings in descending order entirely by hand for many years.

[MMDL] Playoff Schedules - Spring 2012

The MMDL's "Second Season" is about to begin! Who on your team will emerge in the playoffs and pull off something BIG?

Good luck to all teams in their quest for the coveted MMDL State Championship, and please read the important reminders below. Most importantly, please check with your home sponsor about any potential conflicts with playoff matches, particularly any Thursdays that you are scheduled to play so that you can make alternative arrangements.

RIP - We greatly regret to report the passing of Dave Brinchero, former Vice President of MMDL and co-founder of the Commonwealth Dart League. UPDATE: Wake on Wed, May 2, 4-8pm at Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, Ma, 781-665-1949; Funeral service: same place on Thurs, May 3, at 10am.
