[MMDL] Free ADO Qualifier for U.S. Masters - 3/16 at Beverly Elks

If you love to play darts, isn't it about time you came to one of these?  Come help MMDL dominate the Men's and Women's national rankings and help send our ADO players to England...

MMDL's FREE ADO event series continues. PLEASE help us spread the word among your team and other MMDL players you meet.  These qualifiers are a great way to play A LOT of quality, tournament style darts at no cost to you.  We especially encourage players to come out and give it a go and improve their game for league nights while supporting the growth of women's darts in the USA.

Winners of this qualifier will earn entry ($110 value) to the ADO U.S. Masters Regional competition scheduled for March 23rd at the Barn in Amesbury, MA. Winners from the Regional will represent MMDL and Area 5-1 at the ADO National U.S. Masters competition in Charlotte, NC in April.  U.S. Masters winners will be sent to compete at the World Masters in England next October.

DIRECTIONS

ELIGIBILITY:
In order to participate in this MMDL event you must have played at least 3 matches in the prior season or 1 match in the current season.

Doors open at 10:30am and event to start at 11:30pm. Registration closes 15 minutes prior to start.

NOTE:  Players that go deep in the tournament will likely play late into the day -- make sure you can commit to the entire day of darts, leaving before completing your matches may suspend you from future qualifiers.

Please print this flyer out and distribute to anyone you think may wish to participate.
 
Up to 3 men and 3 women will win a free registration ($110 value) to represent the MMDL at the upcoming ADO Regional.  Winners from that will advance to the national competition. As always, there is no entry fee for this qualifier and all MMDL members* in good standing are invited to attend.

[MMDL] Pre-Season Capt's Meeting start next week!

About two weeks to go before the darts start flying for the start of MMDL's 40th Anniversary year!

Captains - don't forget to be on time for your area's second captain's meeting next week.  This is where you will come to learn about any league updates from your area director and pick up your captain's kit with match schedules, reports and other important info.  See the full meeting schedule below.

BONUS LODs - BRING YOUR DARTS! - North Shore, Central and Boston meetings will be followed by Luck of the Draw tournaments open to any and all players so bring your friends and teammates!  MMDL will also be adding $100 to each area's LOD payouts.

[MMDL] State Finals! Who will throw the last dart and bring home MMDL's ultimate prize?

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

* Team Photos: Please send any team pictures of state champions to mmdl.bod@gmail.com

* Game Boards - Please remember that MMDL tradition is for the winning team to sign and keep the finals match dartboard.  If this presents any problem for the home team or sponsor, please note that prior to playing the match to avoid any misunderstandings.  Remember to bring a sharpie marker for board signatures.  Winning teams should replace the sponsor's dartboard.

MMDL News

RIP - Bobby Harrold
On January 13, 2014 the dart community suffered a tragedy when Robert "Bobby "Harrold lost his battle with cancer. Bob was a 30+ year veteran of the Minute Man Dart League. He had multiple state championships under his belt and numerous awards of distinction. Anyone who knew Bob knew this, he may have been small in stature but he threw big darts! You will be missed my friend. Tuesdays will never be the same.

Playoff updates are now posted for Super A, Central and North Shore areas (see links below to download schedules with results).  Boston and South Shore are still pending results from matches postponed due to last week's winter storm and will be posted as soon as results are reported.  Follow our Facebook or Twitter feeds for updates.

Captain's with choice for first home location please make arrangements ASAP with the opposing captain.  For additional playoff info, click here. If you have any questions, contact your area director.

[MMDL] Weather Advisory for Playoffs & Captain's Meetings

MMDL is aware that the Hercules Winter storm will make travel conditions hazardous for Thursday's playoff matches and Boston and Central area captain's meetings.  Please see below the status of these events and the contingency guidelines we ask you to follow.  Your full cooperation is required to enable a smooth and safe completion of the playoffs and Spring season sign ups.

1. Central Area Captain's Meeting - RESCHEDULED to Monday, January 6, same time and place. Contact Area Director Becky Wainwright (tel: 978-882-3119) if you need to make alternate arrangements for submitting your roster and sponsor fee check.

2. Boston Area Captain's Meeting - PROCEEDING AS SCHEDULED.  Contact Area Director Kim Burdulis (tel: 978-882-3121) if you need to make alternate arrangements for submitting your roster and sponsor fee check.

3. Playoffs:

  • Matches are not officially canceled, but due to the severe weather forecast we encourage all teams to reschedule.
  • Captains, please contact each other right away and coordinate whether or not your teams wish to play or to reschedule a makeup match.
  • Nobody is obligated to play their match and all requests for makeups must be honored. Safety must be the priority. 
  • Day and time of makeups must be reported to your area director as soon as possible.  If you are having trouble rescheduling your makeup, please ask your area director for assistance.  Makeups must be completed before the next round begins.
